Wrong Turns by Jack Ramsey // Designer's Perspective

Failure is a dirty word. Even in writing this now, I keep scrolling through a list of synonyms to try and soften or massage the word into something less striking. As designers we strive for perfection. With every meticulous detail in its place. But perfection requires experimentation, and it requires failure. To find the right answer we have to thoroughly interrogate the wrong one. In learning why something doesn’t work, we find out why something does or we find something brand new entirely.

Lambert and Fils NYC Showroom Tour

Last week, NoChintz had been kindly invited by Richard at Relay to take part in a virtual tour of the Lambert and Fils NYC showroom. Hosted virtually by the wonderful Pierre-Antone and Darcy. We first understood the showrooms inception – how the opening of a showroom had been a longtime dream; wanting a physical space to represent the brand, to mark their 10th anniversary and offer a place to interact with guests and be part of a community but then only 24 hours of lease agreement – lockdown. Pierre over in Montreal still hadn’t been to the physical space yet due to the pandemic and that meant Darcy was in charge of the camera whilst the tour began.
