Last Friday a group of designers from NoChintz attended the Design City: Reframed conference at The Principle Hotel, Manchester. Now in its Fifth year, the day long conference features presentations from a range of celebrated and influential speakers across a range of disciplines including: architecture, branding, service design and film; showing an insight into their creative work.
The stand out speakers for NoChintz were Louis Mikolay from North, explaining their design process for branding projects; Ellen Van Loon from OMA, showcasing some of her offices most recent completed architectural works; and Emily Forgot, discussing the sources of inspiration for her illustration work.
The conference was part of the annual Design Manchester Festival, a series of events focused on ‘providing the voice of design’ for those working in and with Manchester across the design industries. Getting larger ever year; the programme hosted over 60 events over two weeks, including: exhibitions, showcase presentations, live performances, films, workshops, community programmes, debates and a design and print fair.
