Here at NoChintz we are celebrating our most successful year to date as we have trebled our turnover to £1.1 million in 2010 compared with £350,000 in 2009. This achievement is the result of a series of new client wins over the past six months including JD Sports, Canterbury of New Zealand, 3M and Miller Homes.

Dominic Beardwell, director, NoChintz said: “2010 was an incredible year for NoChintz; it exceeded our expectations in many ways. Trebling our turnover because of our new clients, and repeat work from many of our existing clients, has also enabled us to recruit four new members to the team. I expect that we will double our turnover in 2011.

“NoChintz is growing and beginning to move into new areas beyond our original interior design proposition. We are marketing and managing freelance office space Studio 17 at 12 Hilton Street, and we’ve formed a working partnership with Rejuvenate to work with other businesses to help them build their brands.”

In 2010 NoChintz become a part of the Mill Co. Community, a virtual mill and online community of creative collaborators. Through introductions made by being part of this community, NoChintz have been working closely with both JD Sports and Canterbury of New Zealand.

NoChintz has won contracts to design three new stores for a JD Sports brand, the first of which opened in Hull just before Christmas and the remaining stores will open in the next few months. The growing relationship with Bury based JD Sports started in spring last year as NoChintz designed the stand for Canterbury of New Zealand at international trade show Bread and Butter held in Berlin. Canterbury launched a new fashion range at the show, and it was so successful that NoChintz will be back on board with Canterbury for the next Bread & Butter being held later this month.

Following a commission from Mill Co. NoChintz also designed a pop-up space made from a shipping container to help Canterbury promote its brand. It launched in Edinburgh in early December and we are now working in partnership with Mill Co. to propose rolling out this project in 2011 where it is intended that it will visit cities across the UK.

Miller Homes is the latest property developer to call on us to design new show homes and a marketing suite for its Infusion development at Moss Side in Manchester. Argent has used NoChintz expertise for its commercial office scheme, the Hive on Lever Street, in the Manchester’s Northern Quarter. And NoChintz continue to work with Urban Splash.

NoChintz director Lucy Goddard has been building the NoChintz Agency to help promote and market furniture by Northwest designers. Over the August Bank Holiday Weekend, NoChintz Agency took over the former Adidas store in Manchester’s Triangle shopping centre to display the work of some of our designers and also took part in the London Design Festival held in September. NoChintz Agency is also the sole UK agent for Barcelona based ABR.

This year has also seen NoChintz design more interiors for temporary spaces such as the VIP area for Pride and the North Pole Bar at Cathedral Gardens.

See what the Place North West and the Manchester Evening News have been saying about our success!
