dock10 is one of Europe’s leading digital media service providers. Programmes made in dock10’s seven HD studios, two audio studios and 27 edit suites, include The Voice, Match of the Day, Blue Peter, Happy Valley and Last Tango in Halifax.
Located in MediaCityUK, dock10’s 24,000m2 purpose-built facility opened in 2011 and is constantly evolving in line with industry and client needs. Keen to keep it easy for clients and visitors to find their way around the vast building, dock10 appointed NoChintz to design, create and implement a simple, straightforward way-finding system.
We developed a graphic system inspired by traditional media ‘buttons’; pause icons to make visitors stop and orientate themselves; play arrows to point people in the right direction; and fast forward icons to indicate the need to keep moving. Destination points were allocated to demonstrate the location of a department, and information portals were created to contextualise particular parts of the building.
We also refreshed the corridors of dock10; with a combination of colour and large format bespoke icon. NoChintz Identity and Interiors worked seamlessly to complete this project and are thrilled with the outcome.
We’ll have the full details of the interiors stage of the project in next month’s newsletter.
