NoChintz have recently completed Manchester’s newest independent Mexican offering, Changos on Oxford Road. Ideally located for students and professionals alike, we worked closely with Louise Mora who created the colourful graphics and branding for Changos Burrito bar.
NoChintz provided the interior design consultancy transforming the unit from its former use as a newsagent. We opened up the ceiling and revealed the original features of the building, including the parquet flooring and the cornice details above the doors. The food offering is perfect for lunch on the go but we also wanted to allow an informal mixture of seating inside.
We worked closely with our friend Moot, a local artist, to create a vivid mural above the main seating area to tie in Louise’s brand colours. We also brought colour through stitching on the bespoke designed banquette seating, and through selecting elements of her graphics for the stools, tabletops, counter front and vinyls for the storage units. We designed bespoke sombrero lighting that divides the service and seating areas.
